FLORAL & FRINGE: NEW YORK FASHION WEEK | SPRING 2016

When I was asked to write a fashion blog for TIVOL, I was immediately excited to share my expertise and talent for choosing the right looks — but then I panicked and realized I’m just a girl from the Midwest who’s never been to fashion week (or has even written a blog before!).

I only dream of someday being able to afford and wear all of these designers. Just like most girls who love fashion, I can’t wait to see what the TRUE experts bring to the runways. I’m inspired by the hearts and souls of the men and women who bring to their looks to NYFW each year, and allow little people like me to judge and critique them.

Here’s a few of my favorite looks from NYFW. I consider my style to be feminine and whimsical with a touch of edge. No pattern or color is too bright or too bold for me.

I hope you enjoy my love for outrageous looks and ballsy designers. If not, maybe this will give you a few moments to waste at work before the clock strikes five o’clock. : )

Monique Lhuiller. Say it with me. It even rolls off the tongue beautifully. I don’t know a single woman who doesn’t dream of wearing a Monique Lhuillier gown some day. I adore this sweet spring dress. It reminds me of a vanilla ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles. These dresses are perfect for that daytime wedding and paired with a bright heal.

Wow. Lela Rose sure did bring her A-game this year. These flowy and flirty patterns are to die for. There is no doubt this dress will be hanging in my already full closet this spring.

I can just imagine accepting my first Oscar in this gown and being on every fashion critic’s best dressed list the next morning.

These next two images are my kind of street style… comfortable but effortlessly feminine.

Oh Karlie, you gorgeous girl. DFV brought the house down again with her beauty and striking patterns. Let’s face it ladies, the wrap dress will never go out of style, its just too good.

Ah, Naeem Khan.  One of our most innovative designers right now. He is all over the red carpet and celebrities love him. His work is intricate and unique. Always ahead of the pack and always setting trends.

1. WERK.

2. Now, I know this is a love or hate dress. But boy, do I love it. A perfect combination of mod and romantic.

3. Giambatista Valli is currently my favorite designer. I love him so much that I had to put his designs in the blog even though he didn’t show at NYFW (he was at Paris Fashion Week instead). His pieces are colorful and outrageous.  His designs aren’t for the faint of heart, but for those women who aren’t afraid to be the boldest and best dressed babe in the room.

Alice & Olivia: Start your pushups today ladies. I’m calling it now—off the shoulder silhouettes are going to be EVERYTHING this Spring.

Fringe on clothes, fringe on jewelry, fringe on bags….it’s everywhere. And I LOVE it.

I will love you forever if you give me this fringe Jason Wu bag. That’s all.

Tory Burch mixed pattern, color and texture with her fringe bags, skirts, tops and dresses. A mix of Boho-chic and ‘70s throwback. Perfect for a Saturday afternoon with wine and friends.

If you love fashion, follow Christian Siriano on Instagram  immediately. He showcases his gorgeous home and rubs elbows with A-list celebrities. He dresses women of every shape and size. He’s even partnered with Lane Bryant to bring fierce looks to plus size women. He’s incredible and wildly talented.

I’m ending my blog with Drew Barrymore in this adorable floral and fringe dress!!
